Summer UT Reads Campaign

Brought to you by UT Learning & Development, UT Reads is a campaign for The University of Texas at Austin to build a learning community through sharing the experience of reading the same book. We hope to initiate constructive conversation throughout our community about important and enriching topics.

This summer, we’re all reading Bowlaway by UT author and English Professor Elizabeth McCracken. A novel about a candlepin bowling alley, unlikely deaths, genealogy, and other oddments.

COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution

Multiple COVID-19 vaccines are being developed, manufactured and approved in the United States. The university is actively pursuing allocation of vaccine from the state and will administer it in accordance with federal and state guidance as part of our plan to keep our students, faculty and staff safe from COVID-19. The Texas Department of State Health Services recently defined Phase 1B priorities to include people over the age of 65 and individuals age 16-64 with certain underlying conditions that put them at greater risk for severe illness from COVID-19. The state makes decisions regarding allocation on a weekly basis, and distributes vaccine accordingly. Visit the Protect Texas Together vaccine distribution web page to learn more.

Employees and Managers Should Report Symptoms or Testing for COVID-19 to OHP

In order to slow the spread of COVID-19 and to help keep our employees safe, it is important that employees and managers report symptoms and testing regardless of test results to the Occupational Health Program (OHP) as soon as possible. OHP will contact the impacted employees, provide health and leave guidance, and perform important contact tracing.

Employees should contact OHP 512-471-4647 or healthpoint.ohp@austin.utexas.edu to report COVID-19 symptoms or COVID-19 tests regardless of test results. Visit the OHP webpage for more information and guidance.
